Totilac^®

Invented by Prof. Xavier Leverve from France, Totilac serves as a near to ideal fluid resuscitation that takes the best out of crystalloid and colloid advantages. More than 20 years ago, Prof. Leverve invented a whole new paradigm of Lactate. Traditionally, lactate was viewed as waste product and even as toxic substance to the body. High level of lactate was blamed as a bad prognosis in critically ill patient. Nevertheless, Prof. Leverve found that lactate was actually a very useful energy substrate for the body, which is quickly and easily metabolized by all the cells, especially in post ischemic conditions. Recent emerging evidences strongly support the concept.

The development of Totilac in cardiac surgery starts from the East. Study in 208 patients in post cardiac surgery and another 66 patients in intra and post cardiac surgery showed that Totilac has 3 in 1 benefits including lactate as energy substrate, small volume resuscitation that induces negative fluid balance, and improving cardiac index. Totilac is now marketed in Indonesia and Philippines and very soon in Vietnam. Registrations in other ASEAN and Asia countries are in progress

Additionally, we have a pilot study performed in Nice, France for traumatic brain injury showing that Totilac creates a more pronounced and prolonged reduction in ICP and mortality as compared to Mannitol.We are actively expanding our indications in dengue, TURP procedure, heart failure, and small volume fluid resuscitation.
